Professional Background & International Experience
After studying medicine at the Medical University of Vienna, I completed my specialist training in the Department of Surgery at Krankenhaus Göttlicher Heiland under the direction of Prim. Dr Viktor Grablowitz. During my medical career, I worked, among other places, at the renowned University Hospital of Surgery in Heidelberg as well as as a specialist at the University Hospital of Surgery at Vienna General Hospital (AKH).
As part of my surgical specialisation, I headed the hernia and reflux surgery department at Krankenhaus Göttlicher Heiland Wien for many years and specialise in numerous surgical procedures in the field of visceral and endoscopic surgery – including hernia and reflux surgery, gallbladder and bowel surgery, as well as endoscopic examinations such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy and proctology.
Another focus is the comprehensive treatment of venous disorders, both at the practice and surgically in hospital.

Dr Bernd Weiner studied medicine at the Medical University of Vienna and completed his specialist training at the Surgical Department of the Göttlicher Heiland Hospital in Vienna under Head of Department Dr Viktor Grablowitz. Further stages of his career took him to the University Clinics for Surgery in Heidelberg and at the AKH Vienna, before he spent many years as a Senior Consultant at Krankenhaus Göttlicher Heiland Wien, where he headed the hernia and reflux surgery department. Today, he is the founder and director of the Surgery & Endoscopy Centre 1160 Vienna, specialising in hernia, reflux, visceral, and endoscopic surgery.
